How to Turn Off Visualisation Background

Hi,

Does anyone know how to stop the stock image from showing in the background when music visualisations are playing? I want to have a black background with just the visualisation showing and I've tried changing the default background image to none but it doesn't stop the image from showing when music is playing

Sorry if this is an obvious question I cant seem to find an answer.

Unable to find 'Music Visualizations' from Kodi add-on page?

No music visualizations possible in Kodi?

I wanted to add music visualization and followed: https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:MilkDrop_2

The home screen
Add-ons
Download
Music visualizations
MilkDrop 2
Install


But there is no Music visualizations option anywhere I can find. I use Confluence, but tried other skins and it is simply not listed.
Would someone help me out on this. I am running Kodi 19 on Ubuntu 18.04

Visualizations on Ubuntu 20.04

Hi, 

I'm running Kodi 18.9 at boot with no window manager. On a machine with Ubuntu 20.04 installed, kernel 5.4.0-66-generic.

I recently tried to get music visualizations working with no success. Followed this procedure https://kodi.wiki/view/Ubuntu_binary_add-ons and all visualization add-ons do install with no errors.
However in Kodi, when I try to enable the add-ons they all give a "ERROR: Add-on 'visualization.projectm' is not compatible with Kodi" message and stay disabled. I tried all the available visualization add-ons at apt-get: fishbmc, goom, projectm, shadertoy, spectrum and waveform. I do have the official stable ppa installed as well. 

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Music visualisations...

I don't play music that often and visualisations used to work...

I am running Ubuntu 18.04, with a window manager and run Kodi full-screen on an Intel internal graphics engine. Just upgraded to v19. When I play music, no visualisations are available - the list just shows "None", yet the log shows them as available (see below). Any idea how to get them back?

Translating your addon at Weblate

Dear addon developers.


Kodi is migrated translations from Transifex to Weblate: https://kodi.weblate.cloud

We encourage all developers with addons in the official Kodi add-on repo to submit their addon for translation at Weblate.

Handling of translations for your addon will become much more simple, as most things are automated.
Weblate will get updated instantly whenever you add or remove a translation from your source en_gb file. 
Translations can be synced to your upstream repo whenever you wish (default is 5 days) either by PR or direct push.
All languages at Weblate will be kept in sync with the en_gb source file.

Summary, description and disclaimer can be automatically synced between addon.xml and language files either by PR or direct push whenever changes are made.


This is a completely new system, so if you experience any bugs or things that don't work, please let us know.
Soon we will create wiki pages with guides and tips on how to best use the system.


Send me a PM or reply in this thread with the following info:
  • URL to your repo at Github/Gitlab
  • Branch
  • Would you like PR's or direct pushes from Weblate? (PR's are safest, direct pushes are easiest)
  • How often would you like PR's/direct pushes? Default is 5 days, but it's totally up to you.

For your source en_gb file to get synced with Weblate, you need to add this webhook to your repo for the push event:
https://kodi.weblate.cloud/hooks/github

If direct pushes are wanted, you need to add Github user "weblate" as collaborator.
This user will automatically accept any collaboration within 5 minutes.
If PR's are the preferred method, Weblate will push to the same PR until merged or closed.

External audio input recognition?

Starting all over.....

I need to get an external audio input (say from a USB source) to be recognised by Kodi so as to produce visualisations (Milkdrop 2?) by the PC HDMI output.

I have replied to an old thread I did on this from 2019, so apologies for the big gap inbetween.

launch screensaver on start up

As the title says, I want to start the screen saver when Kodi starts immediately. At the same time, if the user presses any key and prompts him to enter a numerical password, is there any way to set it? (The screen saver needs to wait at least 1 minute, and I haven't found out how to enter the password when the screensaver returns to the menu, just like the phone.) help !!!!

Screensaver for My Pictures Database addon

Hi All,
I built a really simple screensaver that displays pictures that are stored by the My Pictures Database addon. If you have saved any filters in the My Pictures Database addon, then you can set the screensaver to only show pictures that match a saved filter.
The screensaver is very basic, with almost no options.
I've only tested it with Kodi version 19.4 and with plugin.image.mypicsdb2 version 19.4.4. I'm pretty sure it won't work with versions earlier than these.
I hope you might find it worth trying.

Help Wanted - How to submit a new binary addon

Hi,

I've re-written the 'visualization.goom' binary addon (from 'C') to C++17. I've submitted a pull request to 'https://github.com/xbmc/visualization.goom' in Jan 2022. I haven't had a response yet. It's a giant pull request so maybe that's why nothing has been said. Also the Jenkins check fails (some  tricky error I can't debug) but the other build checks are successful.

Would I be better to try and submit this as a separate new 'Goom++' repo, something like 'https://github.com/xbmc/visualization.goom++'? If so, how is that done. I can't find the right documentation on how to submit new binary addons.

What is the best way to go here?

Hi. Kodi 19 had a very good "matrix" visualization for music. It doesn't work in version 20. Is there any way to fix this? Maybe the author of the addition Sarbes is here and will notice this post? Or maybe in version 20 there will be something similar to "matrix"?
